Last weekend Cleveland Mountain Rescue Team used us as a base for their weekend of training, including a night exercise. It's amazing that this service is run by volunteers and we are super chuffed to have been involved in this small way.
A few words from Louis Hume // Training Officer - Cleveland Mountain Rescue Team
Cleveland Mountain Rescue Team were the first occupants of the new Yorkshire Cycle Hub Bunkhouse facility after a moonlit Friday evening navigating the steep bracken, isolated boulders, quarry and springs of Heads.
On Saturday the team headed up onto Danby Rigg where three parties completed cas-care scenarios, navigation tasks (map & compass and viewranger), steep ground lower & raise off the Land Rover, some level 1 skills and radio tasks before a post- end-ex bid was made for The Half-Shaft Award (for getting the land rover stuck). Thanks also to Dawney Estates for supporting access too.
It was great to collaborate with the the Yorkshire Cycle Hub who were great hosts so many thanks for their very comfortable accommodation, great food and bespoke service, we wish them all the best with their new venture.
